Quietly Making Some Art

Handmade/Analog Collages with Feelings

I have multiple journals, folders, and binders full of collages (so hundreds and hundreds of pages!) so an official portfolio is hard to encompass.

About

My name is Allison Spino, and I am 27 years old. Collaging and scrapbooking has always been a creative outlet in my life. In 2020, I turned a hobby into a full passion. Each of my collages are unique, handmade, one-of-a-kind artwork that is detail-oriented and inspired by music.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you make your collages?
Everything is made by hand! It's all done by cutting and pasting, like scrapbooking.
What apps do you use to edit your photos?
None! Besides cropping the digital scan on my computer, my collages do not have any editing whatsoever. I crop out the journal edges to give the collage a full, completed feeling.
What are your collages made with?
Various paper things! Scrapbook paper, magazines, books. I also like to collect stickers and find ones that fit my style. If I don't use letters cut out from magazines, everything is written by hand.
Where do you get your materials for your collages?
I used to work in a bookstore, so I found a lot of secondhand books and magazines there to cut up. I have also found "junk journal" books on places like Amazon that have a plethora of pictures to cut out, usually in different genres.
Magazines I tend to look for and use: National Geographic, Sierra Club, Better Home & Gardens, Southern Living, Real Simple, Art in America, any nature & gardening based magazines, local and small business magazines, and any other art & living magazines I come across.
Can I purchase a collage/print?
Here for prints, here for original collages. E-mail me if you don't see the one you want. Prints are usually always possible. Not all original collages posted or seen online are available for purchase.
My avatar on Instagram and across most other platforms is a portrait detail from the Arnolfini Portrait by Jan van Eyck.
